On May 15, 2018, the NHAI and IPPPL (IRB PP Project Private Limited) (a Concessionaire), an SPV of IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd., entered into a Concession Agreement for four-laning of the Puducherry – Poondiyankuppam section of NH-45A (New NH-32) Project. The concession period of the Project is 17 years from the Appointed Date (2 years of construction and 15 years of operation from COD).

The Concessionaire shall receive semiannual annuity from the NHAI during this operation period and shall also receive Operation & Maintenance payment for the maintenance of the project highway. 40% of the Project cost would be funded by NHAI during the construction period.

IPPPL was entrusted for four laning of 38.00 Km section of NH-45A (New NH-32) between Puducherry – Poondiyankuppam in Tamilnadu on a Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) basis.

The Puducherry – Poondiyankuppam Project is section of NH-45A (New NH-32) from km 29.00 to km 67.00.

The Project Features

Corridor Description

NH-45A (New NH-332) is existing two lane highway in the state of Tamilnadu.

The NH-45A pass through major towns of Villupuram, Puducherry, Cuddalore, Bhuvanagiri, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Karaikal, Nagore, Nagapattinam etc. The project road lies in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry.

The project road starts at Km.29.00 of NH-45A at Puducherry in Tamil Nadu and ends at Km.67.00 of NH-45A at Poondiyankuppam in Tamil Nadu.

The NH 45A runs in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and union territory -Pondicherry. NH-45A connects Chennai to Nagapattinam on south-eastern coast of the country. Project road is in the state which is second largest contributor to GDP of the country.
