In December 09 2005, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MSRDC) and TGTRPL (Thane Ghodbunder Toll Road Private Limited) (a Concessionaire), an SPV of IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd., entered into a Concession Agreement to develop, operate and maintain the Thane – Ghodbunder Road Project. The concession period of the Project is 15 years from the Appointed Date. The Concessionaire is allowed to collect the notified user fee from the road users during this period.

TGTRPL was entrusted to expand a 14.9 km section in Mumbai from two lanes to four lanes on a DBFOT basis.

Corridor Description

Thane – Ghodbunder Road is the only key connector between two of the busiest road corridors, i.e. NH-4 and NH-8. Thane – Ghodbunder Road is also one of the connectors between Eastern Expressway and Western Expressway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
